But closer inspection show. Rust in most areas of trunk. Trunk in very poor condition, all carpet removed and padding missing.
Front right fender has some large damage. Some low quality putty repair was attempted and the repair is already breaking apart. Repair left in primer color. Fender will probably need to be replaced
large amount of structural rust behind cabin area. This is the area which the rear wheels are attached. Simply wiggling my finger I released 2 cups of rust flakes.
Here is a shot of the area which i got that rust out of. This is a mess across the entire rear of the car.
Looking down from the rear cabin area you can see through to the ground. This same area is equally rusted out on the drivers side also. All carpeting will have to be removed, most likely the entire cabin floor is rusted.
And another whole to the ground. There will be more once the seats are removed to really look.
The rear of the car is sagging because of the missing support where this rust is. You can see the tie bracket bending on each side of the car.
Behind each rear wheel is a large dent. It appear the car was backed over some obstruction. These dents were not fixed, paint was scratched off and now rust is around the dents also. Here is the dent on the drivers side. Sorry bad picture.
There is a 4" long dent next to the gas fill on the rear drivers side. Again the dent was not fixed and rust is now a problem around this dent too.
The interior is in original worn-out condition. No repairs had been done over time. Here we see the air vent cracked and missing
The foam in both headrests has disolved. Here you can see the passenger headrest is very flat and mushed in. The seates will have to be rebuild.
Both rear view mirrors are removed. I suspect the original mirrors may be missing. I have some old mirrors in a box
Under the rearend everything is dirty. I expect to find some mechanical issues in this area. You can see from this picture that the exaust system is old and also dented in a number of placed from the car hitting the ground.
The top of the hood also has a nice chip of paint missing and now is rusting
The engine is in there. In original 133,000 mile condition, to my knowledge it has never been rebuilt. It does not appear to have been cleaned or babied. I was told that the oil pan was removed and parts of a piston fell out. The battery is disconnected. The engine has probably not run for two year, it may even be rusted inside, just don't know. There is no record of receipts to show work done.
